This site describes a superb two-bedroom two-bathroom apartment that is available for rent in Vila Marachique, Alvor, West Algarve.

Vila Marachique is a modern complex ideally placed on the outskirts of Alvor. Its peaceful location, about a mile from the town centre boasts the largest & greenest outdoor pool complex in Alvor. There is a lake-size main pool and a large safe pool for babies and young children. The pool area is surrounded by beautiful gardens of approx 5 acres, this means that even in high season it is never over crowded.

This second floor modern apartment has been recently redecorated and is furnished/fitted to a high standard. The two large balconies provide extensive outside space for relaxing, having a meal and taking in the fabulous views over pool and gardens. There are distant views to Alvor Bay and Monchique mountains and you can watch the sun set on the west-facing balcony. The full air-conditioning, provides a comfortable environment for the hot summer days/nights and also provides warmth if required for the cooler spring and autumn nights. Approximately 45 minute drive from Faro Airport and situated between the towns of Portimao (5km) and Lagos (17km). Faro is very well served by daily flights from the UK. Car hire is not essential as the town and beaches are within walking distance, and many day-trips can be arranged from Alvor. If taxis are preferred, these are cheap and reliable and can be picked up at the taxi rank in town. Alvor is on a main bus route and the service is good. The Algarve has some of Europe’s best golf courses. For golf enthusiasts, the Alto Club and the Championship course at Penina are 5 and 10 minutes drive away respectively. There are 5 other high quality golf courses less than 20 minutes drive away, details can be provided on request.

Alvor is renowned for its superb beaches. The closest beach to the apartment is about a mile away, approx 15-minute walk. Around Alvor there are more than 5 miles of blue flag sandy beaches and sand dunes that are a protected conservation area and cannot be developed. Alvor boasts one of Algarve’s most beautiful beaches, where you can explore coves and caves. The entire stretch is uncrowded, has occasional beach bars & restaurants, sun beds & umbrellas and some water sports facilities available for hire. To fully appreciate and explore this gorgeous stretch of coastline it is advisable to hire a car.

Alvor is centrally situated to enable you to get to the busier towns of Praia de Rocha with its clubs and casino, Portimao or Lagos. The lazier, quieter western Algarve resorts of Praia de Luz, Burgau or Sagres. Even quieter are the resorts on the west coast of Portugal where you could find a beach to yourself. Other places to visit include the water park near Armacao de Pera, Aljezur, Cape St Vincent and the Monchique Mountains that can be seen in the distance from the apartment. A village market is held every second Tuesday of the month in Alvor. In the apartment you will find an information pack that will help you to make the most of your visit to Alvor.

This picturesque fishing village has a rich history dating back to pre-roman times. Today with its many cobbled and narrow streets Alvor still retains much of its charm and laid-back atmosphere. Despite tourism it remains largely unspoilt. There is a good selection of shops and supermarkets, most of which carry brands that you would find in the UK.

Prices start from 250 pounds per week for the apartment in UK pounds. Monday changeovers are preferred, to coincide with good value flights by low-cost carriers, however we are prepared to consider other changeover days if they are more convenient to you. Discount for long winter lets. Smoking is not permitted in the apartment.

Prices are per week per apartment, inclusive of all services. Deposit of 25% payable by cheque or bank transfer with booking form to confirm reservation. Balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival again by cheque or bank transfer. Discounted long term lets in low season. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.
